５月はAsian/Pacific American Heritage Month（仮訳：アジア・太平洋諸島系アメリカ人文化遺産継承月間）です。商務省国勢調査局によると、現在米国内でアジア・太平洋諸島系と言われる人たちは、約1490万人に達しています。ブッシュ大統領は５月１日の声明で、アジア・太平洋諸島系アメリカ人は米国の文化に活気を与え、国の競争力向上に寄与している、と述べました。

インターネット犯罪苦情センター(Internet Crime Complaint Center)は４月３日、インターネット犯罪に関する年次報告書を公表しました。報告される苦情の種類、犯罪と犯罪者のタイプ、州別の統計データなどがまとめられています。2007年で最も多かった苦情はインターネットオークションに関するもので、件数全体の35.7パーセントを占めています。

米商務省国勢調査局は４月１日、公立学校の財政に関する報告書を公表しました。全米の小中学校と高等学校の歳出入を調査したもので、授業、生徒への支援活動、校舎などの施設建設、教職員の給料や手当てに関するデータがまとめられています。報告書によると、2006年度には生徒１人当たり平均9138ドルを支出しており、2005年度に比較して437ドル増加しています。
