Continental Airlines Commemorates 1 Millionth Passenger

Nov. 20, 2008, Fukuoka - Continental Airlines reached an important milestone after serving 1 million passengers on their Fukuoka to Guam flight, and marked the occasion with a special prize for the millionth passenger.

As part of the promotion, Continental's Asia-Pacific Regional Director, Charles Duncan, presented a lucky local newlywed couple with upgrades to business class. Principal Officer Margot Carrington participated in the prize ceremony to offer congratulations and presented the winning couple with a coffee table book on America. Also at the ceremony were a Guam Visitor's Bureau Japan Representative, the Fukuoka Airport Building President, Continental's Fukuoka Airport Manager and Kyushu Branch Manager.

In a related event, Continental announced a February 2009 speech contest, co-sponsored by the Consulate. The contestants will make a short speech and appeal to Continental to "make my dream come true in America." Winners will receive free round trip tickets to any of Continental's U.S. destinations.
