Principal Officer Performs in a Local Kabuki Play for Charity

Oct. 10, 2008, Fukuoka - Principal Officer Margot Carrington participated in a special Kabuki performance in August, along with a number of leaders of the Fukuoka business community. The proceeds were donated to local children in need.

Carrington performed the role of "Merican Omaru," the American Consul who has left her home country behind to come to Japan, where she quickly takes to Japanese customs and life. The performance aired twice on local television and received extensive coverage in the Oct. 10 Nishi Nippon Shinbun, including a photo with the caption: "Principal Officer Margot Carrington of the American Consulate in Fukuoka appears in a fetching kimono."
