The US Jury System - Japanese Barristers Gather for Discussions

Fukuoka - Director of the Mansfield Center's Juries and Democracy Center Robert Precht spoke at the Fukuoka American Center to legal experts on American trial law, courtroom techniques, and the U.S. jury system. The program, jointly sponsored by the Fukuoka Bar Association and the Fukuoka Office of the Japan Legal Support Center, brought together judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and law students to discuss strategies for implementing some techniques from the American system into Japan's new jury/law judge trial system.
