Voices of Virginia Presents Tribute to Broadway

Kitakyushu - A visiting high school group from Virginia's Governor's School for the Arts presented a 90 minute song and dance performance on the caliber of a strong off-Broadway review for over 800 students, civic leaders, and Japan-America Society members in Kitakyushu. The performance was part of the celebration of 47 years of sister city relations between Kitakyushu and Norfolk and was sponsored by City of Kitakyushu and the Kitakyushu Japan-America Society with support from, among others, the Consulate. In the spirit of international goodwill, about 30 families hosted the students for three nights of home-stay activities. This was the third visit of the school in the past 10 years.
