Nagasaki Business Leaders Hear about Military Transformation

Nagasaki - Embassy Tokyo Political-Military Affairs Director Kevin Maher briefed members of Nagasaki City's economic and business community on "The Japan-US Alliance: Transformation and Changes for the Future." The program was sponsored by the Consulate with help from the Nagasaki Japan-America Society, the Nagasaki Chamber of Commerce, and the Nagasaki Economic Federation. Mr. Maher reviewed the mission of current bases inJapan.  He discussed joint US-Japan training and exercises, international cooperation and the roles of Japan and the United States in preserving peace and stability in the region. He encouraged Nagasaki citizens to assist their government and the United States work in the promotion of global stability and peace.
