The Hawaii Experience in Fukuoka

Fukuoka - The State of Hawaii and Fukuoka Prefecture celebrated 25 years of "sister state" relations on May 19-22. Eight state legislators and representatives of 10 Hawaii companies visited Fukuoka for the celebration. Events included an "Oahu Festival" in downtown Tenjin, a trade show to introduce Hawaiian products to Kyushu businesses, and a gala reception and cultural performance for 300 guests. In addition to the Hawaii and Fukuoka governments and Consulate Fukuoka, supporting organizations included the US Embassy Tokyo, the US Consulate General Osaka, the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Hawaii-Fukuoka Kenjinkai, and Japan Airlines.
