U.S. Network Security Products Featured at Seminar/Exhibition

Fukuoka - Cutting-edge U.S. IT security practices and products were the focus of the two-day "U.S. Network Security Seminar/ Exhibition 2006 Fukuoka," jointly organized by the Consulate (commercial and public affairs sections) and Embassy Tokyo. The program kicked off on April 19 with a seminar at the Fukuoka American Center featuring Mike Alfant, Chairman of the High Technology Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, who spoke on "Current and Future Trends of Network Security in the United States." On April 20, President Katsuto Momii of Unisys Japan led off the main trade event with a keynote speech entitled "IT and Security," followed by technical presentations from U.S. firms or their sales agents. The firms, which included Sun Microsystems, Symantec, and others, displayed their products in an adjoining room. The capacity audience included representatives from Fukuoka government offices and many leading Kyushu companies.
