Kevin Maher Briefs the Press on DPRI

Fukuoka - The Fukuoka Consulate conducted an on-the-record press briefing on defense policy review initiative (DPRI) by Embassy Tokyo Political-Military Affairs Director Kevin Maher on "The U.S.-Japan Alliance: Transformation and Realignment for the Future" for journalists at the American Center. Using maps and satellite photos of US military installations in Japan, Mr. Maher explained missions and operations of respective US bases and discussed the objectives of transformation and realignment, as well as the role of the U.S.-Japan security alliance in contributing to the peace and stability of the region.
