RADM Kelly's visit to Sasebo

Sasebo - Rear Admiral James Kelly, Commander of U.S. Naval Forces, Japan, visited Sasebo for the first time since assuming his new position. In addition to meeting with Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo personnel, Admiral Kelly paid courtesy calls on various Sasebo leaders, including Mayor Akira Mitsutake, and exchanged ideas with them on how to further strengthen the already very positive ties between local citizens and the U.S. base community. In the evening, the Japan-America Society of Sasebo hosted a welcome reception in Admiral and Mrs. Kelly's honor. Attendees included local business and civic leaders and senior officials from the Sasebo District Headquarters of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
